When you understand one another, you no longer need any articles. De Cinema and Het Bos join forces for an eclectic ad hoc film programme. From daydreaming over a forgotten film classic to fortune-telling through Slavic cinema: anything goes. BOSCINEMA focuses on social engagement, reflection, and communal experience. While the world is burning, we build a cinephile community rooted in solidarity.

HIGHLIGHTS

This summer, BOSCINEMA presents four open-air screenings in what is perhaps Antwerp’s cosiest courtyard: the BOStuin. Come and enjoy the nostalgic charm of the Czech film INDIAN SUMMER (1995), queer avant-garde and psychedelic rebellion in FUNERAL PARADE OF ROSES (1969), poetic resistance in Michel Khleifi’s Palestinian-Belgian TALE OF THE THREE JEWELS (1995) an alternative lesbian history with DYKE TV: THE EARLY YEARS (1990-1994).

LE RÉVÉLATEUR (1968) by Philippe Garrel with a live soundtrack by the duo of Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart) and Réka Csiszér (VÍZ). A man, a woman and a child wander through a desolate landscape. What they are fleeing from remains unclear, yet the sense of threat is ever-present. In this radical silent film from 1968, Philippe Garrel abandons conventional storytelling to create a hypnotic dreamscape where fear, desire and liberation constantly overlap. At its centre is the child: the smallest and most vulnerable character, yet also the most rebellious.
