Freaky Friday is our double-bill horror film night, where the gruesome, the sinister and the unforgettable take over the screen. Two carefully selected horror films: one classic and one lesser-known cult film. Expect gory scenes, a spine-chilling atmosphere and a cinema full of fellow horror fans. To make the evening even more special, we’ll be selling exclusive Freaky Friday artwork and limited-edition T-shirts during the event. It’s not just a movie night, it’s a ritual!

On Halloween, we’re renaming Freaky Friday to Freaky Saturday for a one-off screening of two zombie films: George A. Romero’s horror classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and the surrealist cult favorite MESSIAH OF EVIL.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is a true milestone in the history of horror, a film that every fan of the genre must see. The premise is simple: a small group of people barricade themselves inside an old, abandoned farmhouse whilst a horde of flesh-eating zombies surrounds them. Setting aside the seemingly simple plot, the film was highly multi-layered, innovative and even controversial for its time. Casting a black actor in the lead role was certainly not the norm in the 1960s. At the time, there were also no age restrictions on screenings.

Just like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, was made on a very limited budget. Friends and family of the directing duo were involved, including director Walter Hill (THE WARRIORS, STREETS OF FIRE). The film grossed very little and disappeared from cinemas almost immediately. It was only later that a critical re-evaluation took place, in which the film was rightly praised for its elliptical plot and dreamlike atmosphere.
