LOVE ME TENDER is a multi-layered portrait of a woman who refuses to choose between who she is and the kind of mother she wants to be. A film about autonomy, prejudice and the price of living an honest life.
Following a painful divorce, Clémence (a standout performance by Vicky Krieps) embarks on a journey of self-discovery. When she tells her ex-husband that she is in romantic relationships with women, he responds by filing an application to strip her of parental authority over their son. This turns out to be the start of a years-long battle, in which Clémence must defend her rights as a mother and as a woman—free to make her own choices.
LOVE ME TENDER premiered last year in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.
