Just days before their wedding, Charlie (Robert Pattinson) and Emma’s (Zendaya) world completely implodes. During a seemingly innocent game of “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?“, Emma makes a shocking confession about her past. What should have been the happiest week of their lives instantly spirals into a psychological crisis, leaving Charlie wondering who the woman across from him actually is. Can their love survive a secret too bizarre to ignore?

THE DRAMA is a razor-sharp thriller laced with a heavy dose of pitch-black humor. Norwegian director Kristoffer Borgli (DREAM SCENARIO) brilliantly dissects societal pressure, the performative nature of modern marriage, and America’s stubborn reluctance to address the Second Amendment. Critics are already calling the film a bold, unpredictable mashup of Ruben Östlund’s FORCE MAJEURE and Thomas Vinterberg’s FESTEN—or as IndieWire aptly described the director: “an A24-friendly Lars von Trier.” Expect anything but a safe romantic comedy; this is a wonderfully eccentric film that will leave you walking out of the theater with a knot in your stomach and a dark smile on your face.
