Freaky Friday dives into the doll theme in April, but in an over-the-top and completely unhinged way. No innocent toys, but possessed dolls, plastic nightmares, and shameless eighties excesses. This crazy dolls cult evening serves up a double bill of CHILD’S PLAY (1988) – etched in the collective memory as the foul-mouthed CHUCKY – and PUPPET MASTER (1989): two cult classics full of gore, revenge plots, and miniature killers with attitude. Pure trashy horror fun!

Just like in CHILD’S PLAY, murderous puppets are awakened in PUPPET MASTER and have only one goal in mind: to slaughter everyone nearby! This direct-to-video release begins with the story of puppet maker Andre Toulon, who commits suicide during World War II before the Nazis discover his secret of bringing puppets to life. Fifty years later, in 1989, the secret is discovered by Neil Gallagher. He invites his friends to join him in investigating a remote hotel. As the night progresses, Toulon’s bloodthirsty dolls are brought to life and unleashed on the group, who discover that evil comes in all shapes and sizes.
