Sisters with Transistors
SISTERS WITH TRANSISTORS is the fascinating untold story of the women who shaped electronic music. Visionary composers like Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Delia Derbyshire, Pauline Oliveros, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel embraced new sound technology long before the world was ready, forever changing how we make and listen to music.
Featuring Laurie Anderson’s voice and rich archival footage, the film paints a vibrant history of radical experimentation, innovative sounds, and a quiet yet powerful struggle for emancipation. Against the backdrop of the social and cultural upheavals of the 20th century, Sisters with Transistors restores these pioneers to their rightful place in music history.
This film screening is part of the brand new PULSE MUSIC FILM FESTIVAL (22-25 January).
